Key Examination Dates and Kick-off
The 2026 examination window is scheduled to span approximately two months, beginning on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, and reaching its conclusion on Friday, June 19, 2026.
On the opening day, the examination will commence with practical planning sessions for specialized vocational subjects. Specifically, candidates will sit for the Foods and Nutrition 3 (Practical) Planning Session and the Home Management 3 (Practical) Planning Session. Following these initial assessments, the schedule will progress into a diverse array of science subjects, technical courses, language papers, and other practical evaluations.
Core Subjects and Public Holiday Breaks
While the examination starts with practicals, core academic subjects such as English Language, General Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Government, and Literature-in-English are strategically placed throughout the subsequent weeks of the testing window.
In a move to accommodate national observances, the WAEC timetable explicitly excludes examination dates for recognized public holidays. Consequently, there will be no papers administered on Workers’ Day (May 1) or Democracy Day (June 12).
