ABUJA — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were temporarily withheld for administrative investigations.

The board’s Head of Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, confirmed the update via an official statement on Thursday. He noted that the newly cleared scores have been added to the national database, following similar batch releases over the past weeks.

The decision follows an intensive verification process by JAMB’s technical and disciplinary committees, which audited individual sessions flagged by automated systems during the nationwide examinations.

“The releases followed a painstaking review of cases flagged for suspected examination malpractice,” Benjamin stated. “While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates.”

Active Investigations and Center Monitoring

The examination body clarified that the verification exercise is still ongoing for several other classifications of suspicious test data.

Results from specific computer-based test (CBT) centers where JAMB’s live tracking systems flagged unusual server traffic, or where independent supervisors filed negative field reports, will remain suspended from the public portal.

The board emphasized its strict stance on maintaining the integrity of the selection process. Officials warned that if data analysis or biometric logs establish clear evidence of collusion or external assistance at these remaining centers, those blocks of results will face permanent cancellation.

Verification Protocol for Candidates

The 2026 UTME exercise took place between April 16 and April 25 across over 700 accredited CBT centers nationwide. For candidates who have not yet accessed their performance metrics, JAMB has kept its shortcode routing active.

To check their current status, candidates are required to send the text string UTMERESULT to either 55019 or 66019. The request must be sent from the unique mobile telephone number that was linked to the candidate's profile during the initial registration and biometric capture window.

The platform will return an automated SMS detailing the individual scores, a notification if the result remains under active investigation, or a cancellation alert based on the finalized review records.

The board clears scores for unaffected candidates while confirming outright cancellations for established cases of cheating.
