ILE-IFE - Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has further solidified its reputation as a premier center for technical education by emerging as the overall winner of the latest national Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) competition. The "Great Ife" institution secured the top spot after a hard-fought battle against the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), in a high-stakes grand finale.

The competition featured elite universities from across Nigeria, subjecting participants to a demanding selection process. According to a statement released on Tuesday by OAU’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, the contest was designed to push the boundaries of the students' knowledge, innovation, and problem-solving capabilities within critical STEM disciplines.

While many top-tier institutions entered the fray, OAU and FUTA outperformed the field in the preliminary stages to set up an intense final showdown.
