BAUCHI — Renowned cleric and convener of the Initiative for a Better and Brighter Nigeria, Prophet Isa El-Buba, has officially endorsed Prince Adewole Adebayo as his preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election. El-Buba, speaking to delegates and supporters at a Social Democratic Party (SDP) gathering in Bauchi on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, called for a fundamental shift in the nation’s leadership direction.
A Call for National Rebirth
Prophet El-Buba expressed deep concern over the disconnect between Nigeria’s vast natural wealth and the socio-economic reality of its citizens. He highlighted that despite the country's potential, millions of Nigerians continue to grapple with systemic issues, including:

• High unemployment rates
• Pervasive poverty and social injustice
“Nigeria cannot continue to go through pain, frustration, and clueless leadership,” El-Buba stated, emphasizing that the current trajectory necessitates collective action from citizens committed to "rewriting history."
Warning Against a One-Party State
During his address, the cleric issued a stern warning regarding the future of Nigeria’s democratic health. He cautioned against political developments that could maneuver the nation toward a one-party system, which he described as incompatible with national stability.
"Nigeria cannot go into a one-party state. Every system survives by justice and equity. Oppression is never the pathway to stability, and peace cannot thrive in the midst of injustice."

El-Buba framed his endorsement of Prince Adewole Adebayo as a strategic choice for national transformation. He noted that his movement intends to fully mobilize support for the SDP leader, arguing that Adebayo represents the "purposeful leadership" required to restore public trust and rebuild essential national institutions.
