ASABA — Two soldiers attached to the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have lost their lives following a tragic road accident in Delta State. The incident occurred on Saturday along 74 Road in the Oshimili South Local Government Area.

Incident Summary

According to reports, the two soldiers were traveling on a motorcycle when they were struck by a civilian vehicle. Despite being immediately rushed to the 63 Brigade Medical Centre for emergency care, both victims were unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival by medical personnel.

Investigation and Arrest

Security operatives at the scene successfully apprehended the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. In a disturbing development, subsequent drug testing revealed that the suspect tested positive for both cannabis and cocaine.

The suspect has been taken into custody and handed over to the 63 Provost Company, where further investigation is currently underway. The remains of the deceased soldiers have been transferred to the mortuary of the Asaba Specialist Hospital to await final funeral arrangements.
