CHIBOK, Borno State — Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists launched a violent attack on the community of Kautikari in the Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The assault began at approximately 7:00 p.m., causing immediate panic among residents who were forced to abandon their homes and flee into the surrounding bush to seek safety. During the raid, the attackers targeted educational infrastructure, setting both the primary and day secondary schools in the community on fire.
A security source from Kautikari, currently based in Maiduguri, confirmed the attack to reporters. While the community remains in a state of alarm, official details regarding potential casualties or the extent of the damage beyond the destroyed school facilities have yet to be fully ascertained.
