LEIPZIG/PARIS — RB Leipzig’s breakout star, Yan Diomandé, has ignited intense transfer speculation after publicly declaring his lifelong admiration for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The 19 year old winger, currently one of the most sought-after talents in European football, admitted that joining the French champions would be a "pleasure."

A Childhood Dream

Speaking in an interview with L'Équipe, the Ivorian international expressed a deep personal connection to the Parisian club. "Paris Saint-Germain is a team I’ve loved since I was a child. My father supports them, and it’s a team I admire as a football fan," Diomandé stated.

When asked about the potential for a future move to the Parc des Princes, the teenager added: "It would be a pleasure for me to come and play here with one of the biggest clubs. It’s always a pleasure to come here because, with French being spoken, I think adapting wouldn’t be difficult. But why not?"

Transfer Race Intensifies

Diomandé’s comments have arrived at a critical juncture in the summer transfer window. The winger, who recorded 13 goals and 9 assists in a stellar 2025/2026 campaign, has become a primary target for Europe’s elite, with Liverpool and Manchester City also heavily linked to his signature.

Liverpool’s Interest: Reports indicate that Liverpool views Diomandé as their top target to replace Mohamed Salah. While the Reds are aggressively pushing for a deal, the player's recent public admiration for PSG has complicated their pursuit.

"I don’t think I’m looking ahead to the future or focusing on anything else," Diomandé said. "I remain focused on the World Cup. After that, the clubs will sort things out between themselves and we’ll see what happens next."
