UEFA has officially selected Juventus Stadium in Turin and Puskás Aréna in Budapest to host the 2028 and 2029 UEFA Conference League finals respectively.
The UEFA Executive Committee confirmed the venues on Tuesday, September 15, following its meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece. Juventus Stadium will stage the 2028 Conference League final, while Budapest's Puskás Aréna will host the 2029 final.
The decisions form part of UEFA's wider allocation of venues for major European club competition finals through 2029.
Juventus Stadium to host 2028 final
Turin's Juventus Stadium will become the setting for the 2028 Conference League final.
The stadium, home of Italian giants Juventus, opened in 2011 on the site of the former Stadio delle Alpi. It has already hosted several major UEFA events, giving Turin considerable experience in staging European finals.
The venue previously hosted the 2014 Europa League final, when Sevilla defeated Benfica on penalties after a goalless draw.
Juventus Stadium was also among the venues for the 2021 UEFA Nations League finals and later hosted the 2022 UEFA Women's Champions League final, in which Lyon defeated Barcelona 3-1.
The 2028 Conference League final will therefore add another major European final to the stadium's history.
Juventus could potentially play at home
The selection of Juventus Stadium will naturally create the possibility of Juventus competing in a European final on home soil.
However, hosting rights do not give Juventus an automatic place in the final.
The Italian club would still need to qualify for the Conference League and progress through the competition's league and knockout stages.
The same applies to every other club that could potentially reach the 2028 showpiece.
The identity of the finalists will not be known until the competition is played.
Puskás Aréna gets 2029 final
One year later, the Conference League final will move to Budapest.
UEFA has selected Puskás Aréna as the venue for the 2029 final, giving Hungary another opportunity to stage a major European club football event.
The 67,000-capacity stadium opened in 2019 and replaced the old Hungarian national stadium, which was also named after legendary Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás.
The venue has quickly established itself as one of Europe's major football stadiums.
It hosted the 2020 UEFA Super Cup, when Bayern Munich defeated Sevilla 2-1, and the 2023 Europa League final, where Sevilla beat Roma on penalties.
Most recently, Puskás Aréna hosted the 2026 Champions League final, in which Paris Saint-Germain defeated Arsenal on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
That history makes the 2029 Conference League final another major addition to the stadium's European pedigree.
Puskás Aréna set to make UEFA history
The 2029 Conference League final will give Puskás Aréna a unique distinction.
UEFA says the Budapest stadium will become the first venue to have hosted all three of UEFA's current senior men's club competition finals — the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
The stadium has already hosted the Champions League final in 2026 and the Europa League final in 2023.
Adding the Conference League final in 2029 will complete the set.
That makes the venue one of the most versatile stadiums in European club football despite being less than a decade old.
