MADRID — Real Madrid have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. The 27-year-old is set to join the Los Blancos following the conclusion of his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The transfer marks a swift move by newly appointed manager José Mourinho, who was confirmed for his second stint at the Bernabéu on June 11. Identifying the left-back position as a key area for reinforcement, Mourinho prioritized the acquisition of the former Barcelona academy product to strengthen the squad's defensive depth ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
