MILAN — Inter Milan’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has confirmed that the club is actively searching for a high-quality, younger replacement for Denzel Dumfries following the Dutch wing-back’s impending transfer to Real Madrid.

Addressing concerns from the Nerazzurri faithful regarding the void left by Dumfries, Ausilio projected optimism by highlighting Inter’s history of identifying elite right-wing-back talent.

“We will replace Denzel Dumfries with a younger right back, a very good player,” Ausilio stated. “Hakimi, Cancelo, Dumfries. These are the last RWBs we had, so be positive.”

The Search for a Successor

Reports from the Italian press indicate that Atalanta’s 21-year-old standout, Marco Palestra, has emerged as the club’s primary target to fill the position. The 30 year-old departs after a highly successful five-year tenure in Milan, during which he became a key figure in the club’s tactical framework, contributing 55 goal involvements across 207 appearances.
