MANCHESTER — Manchester United has reached a full agreement to sign Atalanta midfielder Éderson in a deal worth a total package of €45 million. The 26-year-old Brazilian is set to become a key addition to the squad as United moves to reinforce its midfield ahead of the new season.

Deal Structure and Contract

The transfer is expected to be finalized in early July, pending a medical examination. The terms of the agreement are as follows:

Transfer Fee: A fixed fee of €40.5 million, plus €4.5 million in performance-based add-ons.

Contract Length: A four-year deal running until June 2030, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.

Strategic Move for United

United identified the midfield as a primary area for improvement, and Éderson has been a long-term target. With his contract at Atalanta previously set to expire in 2027, the club was able to negotiate a favorable fee for the Brazilian, who made 30 Serie A appearances during the 2025/26 campaign, recording two goals and one assist. Éderson reportedly prioritized a move to Old Trafford over interest from other major European clubs.
