MONTERREY — C.F. Monterrey has officially announced the appointment of Matías Almeyda as the club's new head coach. The Argentine strategist returns to Mexican football eight years after departing Guadalajara, putting pen to paper on a definitive two-year contract that ties him to the northern powerhouse until the summer of 2028.

Negotiations were successfully completed by Monterrey's newly appointed Sporting President, Dennis te Kloese, following a intensive fortnight of face-to-face dialogue in Spain. Almeyda, who recently concluded a managerial stint in LaLiga with Sevilla, will arrive in Nuevo León during the final week of May to formally take control of the first-team squad ahead of their scheduled pre-season camp on June 1.

Structural Overhaul and Tactical Mandate

The hiring of "El Pelado" Almeyda marks the beginning of an aggressive institutional rebuild at Monterrey.
